Anyone know of voluntary work in Kathmandu ??

Can anyone point me in the direction of voluntary work in Kathmandu ? i.e teaching english.

I am not looking for any kind of payment, I just want to stay in Nepal longer than a couple of days.

Volunteer Service of Nepal. Go to the global volunteer network website www.volunteer.org.nz You will not find a better organisation than this! I worked with them last year and will certainly go back again soon!

I went in September last year. I miss it so much which is why I was looking on here! The organisation is truly the best. Emma the founder is very much involved and has the best interests of the children and community in mind. You can choose how long you volunteer too. Make sure you go all the way and dress up for the festival. I went to the women%26#39;s festival in the full kit and the locals loved it! They made me so welcome and whispered to one another whether I was marrying a Nepali man and if so wondered where we would live once we married.... little did they know I could understand them!! It was pretty funny!

we want them to experience helping out and sharing cultures - i dont know if there is any thing out there for us - we want to either help out in a school or programme some where - have heard of many dodgy orphanges in Nepal - i have sent an email to GVN asking them is they can help or put is in the right direction- Why dont you put up some of your photos on this web site i would love to see your pics - have a look at our photos from Chitwan and kathmandu etc - thanks for the help .........
