I am will be visiting Delhi in November and I am keen to visit Kathmandu and do the Everest flight. Due to time constraints though I can only spare the one night - fly up one afternoon and fly out the next. It is not ideal but is it worth doing? Is there a tour of Kathmandu that you can do for a couple of hours etc?
Thanks!
Kathmandu for one night??
Hi same as me, I will go to India with my wife and spend 3/4 days in Nepal. We will not stay in Kathmandu but in Bhaktapur. I have heard it is even better and very closed to Kathmandu. I can%26#39;t talk on personal opinion at this stage, but it may be worth for you to check. Bhagdaon (or somethign like that) seems to be the best guest house there.
Hope this helps.

Kathmandu for one night??
You could do a couple of hours tour of Kathmandu. You could go to the Kathamndu Durbar Square, Swayambhunath, Pashupatinath and Bodhnath, Patan Durbar Square, Bhaktapur Durbar square, whichever you like.
and it would be enough one full day for Kathmandu, Patan and Pashunati?
I will spend a total of 4 days: 1 in Nagarkot, 1 in Panauti and Pashunati, 1 in kathmandu and Patan and the Budha, plus the last day (mornign only) in Bhaktapur.
Cheers

jumanufer...that would be a rather busy day in Kathmandu.
Swayambhunath was about 3 hours, but we hiked there from Thamel.
Thamel is worth an hour or two shopping, wandering the streets, snacking, people watching.
I spent about 3 hours at Pashupatinath, watching much of a cremation ceremony and visiting the Sudha. (Not sure if you meant Pashupatinath on the same day.)
Patan has a beautiful square. There%26#39;s a very nice restaurant several floors high with an outdoor deck overlooking the square. The woodworking shops in Patan are also quite intriguing.
Durbar Sq of Kathmandu is also worth seeing.
Thanks very much for this. Yes that is what I meant, sorry about that.
It seems to be a very busy trip!!! I am looking forward it, I will have to plan it very carefully if I want to see all.
Cheers

jumanafer...Have you considered hiring a guide to help you get about?
I was very pleased that I hired a guide for my visit last month. I%26#39;d be glad to provide you their contact information if you are interested.
Have fun!!! Kathmandu and the valley is incredible!!
I didnt think about that, but I would be a good option, especially after Nagarkot, just to see all the main site. Do you mind providing me the details?
Thanks a lot
Juan
you have to do the everest flight in the early morning, thats when the weather is best
kathmandu is ok, if you have an interest in seeing the cremations or temples you will enjoy it
otherwise, its quite crowded and dirty
i just got back from 3 weeks in nepal so feel free to ask me any other questions
Hey what is this everest flight you are talking about? where can i have the details?
The flight takes somethign about 1 hour and gets close to the Everest. The cost I think is about 100 - 130 USD.
