Hi! do not book trek from overseas cause they are very expensive .If you find and check local trekking company in Nepal they are much cheaper then urs from there.

We are from Australia and we are using the company called Kumuka based in Sydney. We have used a branch of Peregrine called BackTrack when we did the Kokoda Track last year and certainly did not have any complaints. Since Nepal is so far away and we have absolutely no idea what we are in for, we decided to use a company here in Oz. We may pay more but so be it. Good luck. We are going in October this year.

hey Ron

Well Me being a Nepalese living in australia know wat most ozzys look for in Nepal. Well Ron ya can always look up da web and find nepalese trekking agencies which will help ya with ur trekking trip.

most agencies in oz will charge ya heaps compared to wat they charge u in Nepal so i advice u to check some nepalese trekkin agencies based in Ktm b4 making any final decision

Cheers

Hi

Peregrine do have a very good reputation. My wife has done 7 trips to Nepal including treks, sightseeing and mountain expeditions. She has used lots of different companies and rates Peregrine as one of the better ones.

I have first hand experience of another Australian company called World Expeditions who I rate very highly.

It is indeed true that you can get some excellent deals with local companies and will indeed probably be handled by a local company even if you book through a Western company. But I for one fully appreciate sitting back and letting someone else organise my trip, hotel, flights etc. Especially if I haven%26#39;t visited the country before.

If you decide to go with a western company to arrange everything, check out World Expeditions, Exodus, Guerba, Himalayan Kingdoms as well as Peregrine. I would check the itineraries closely to compare. For example, I found the World Expeditions Everest High Passes trek better than other companies as they allowed extra acclimatisation days, carried a Gammow Bag and used better Kathmandu hotels than other companies.

In short, I would choose the trek I want to do first, then choose my company.

I am just home from 2 months in Nepal (mostly trekking) so if you want any other tips, just ask.

Thanks for the advise everyone

Ron
