Nepal in February

Hi,

Please can you let me know if the weather in Nepal is good in February for visiting Kathmandu, Nagarkot, Pokhara and possibly Chitwan.

Also do you recommend to book car transfers and sightseeing tours before arriging in Nepal?

How many days would you spend in each place? We have the following tentative itinerary:

Kathmandu - 2 nights

Pokhara - 3 nights

Kathmandu - 1 night

Are 3 nights in Pokhara too long? Shoul I add Chitwan for 1 night? What can I do in Chitwan for such a short time?

Many thanks.

I went to Nepal in February and did a few more nights than you are planning - it%26#39;s a whistle-stop itinerary you%26#39;ve got there!

The weather is OK not great, I was cold in Kathmandu most of the time, Pokhara was slightly better, Chitwan was a bit warmer (but cold in the mornings and evenings).

Pokhara the town and lake are lovely but unless you are planning to get out for a trek into the mountains (recommended!), you%26#39;d be wasting 3 nights there.

If you can squeeze a trip in to Chitwan to see some wildlife (apart from cows on the road!) that would be the most rewarding part of your trip and I would recommend spending more time there. If you really only have 1 night, go for one of the hotels on the edge of the park that keep elephant stables - you%26#39;ll get a tour of the stables and to go on an early morning ele-back safari.

Enjoy!
