Will be travelling to ktm in september, but coming from europe not home. Im trying to travel light, should I buy trekking clothes in ktm or in australia before i leave? Thankyou

Thamel is full of shops where you can buy genuine branded and fake trekking gear. You can pick up pretty much everything you need on the ground but might want to buy boots in Europe - more expensive but a lot of the boots available in Thamel are a bit ropey.

There is also a genuine North Face outlet in Tredevi Marg in Thamel, and I seen to recall a Lowe Alpine shop too

Shona%26#39;s is a great trekking shop with their own brand. Again, in Thamel.

I%26#39;m preparing myself and a group of 5 to visit Annapurna Region in October for one month; you should definitely have all what%26#39;s needed with you before comming to Nepal. It,s easy to buy or hire the equipment here but forget the quality! And remember that Sept. and Oct. are the most crowded months of the Himalaya Trekking Season.
