Getting to Katmandu from Bangkok

My wife and I are planning to go to Katmandu in November. We are going to spend a couple of day%26#39;s in Chang Mai and then fly to Kat. What airlines have you been on that flies into Katmandu and is it best to get tickets on the net or buy the ticket from a travel agent in Bangkok? What should one expect to pay for 2 adult tickets.

Try looking at Thai Air or Jet Air. My husband and I are flying Katmandu - Bangkok Thai Air in early November. We booked one way and it was $450 each, but we booked Business Class. I think coach was about $75 less expensive. We made the booking 6 weeks ago.

We flew KTM to BKK on Thai. I believe that Royal Nepal airlines also does this route, but I understand is quite unreliable and not much cheaper.

Buying tickets in Nepal was MUCH less expensive than buying them at home (about $270US each including taxes); I%26#39;d expect that it would also be less expensive to buy in Bangkok than abroad. You will have no trouble finding a travel agent on Khao San Rd.
