water purification

Could you tell me if you have to use water purifiction for ALL water in Nepal?

water purification

It would be a good idea. Even %26#39;pure mountain water%26#39; could be contaminated by settlements and/or grazing on land above.

Absolutely ALL water, except bottled. Even then look out for broken seals.

Also, can you buy the tablets there ?

Good question. I actually cannot remember seeing any for sale in Kathmandu. I recommend taking your own.

If you are trekking, I would suggest getting all your water boiled as it tastes so much better than tablets, and is cheaper.

I don%26#39;t remember seeing tablets in Kathmandu either. We brought chlorine drops from home--they don%26#39;t change the taste of the water.

Thanks for the info. x

Don%26#39;t forget to clean your teeth in purified water! Also think about the food you are eating - peelable fruit and NO salads!!

erm...say i%26#39;m going to stay for 3 months, do i have to bring 3 months%26#39; worth of tablets??? or simple water boiling will do the job?

We stayed in Nepal for several months as well. The small bottles of chlorine drops treat a large amount of water. Between those and boiled water/tea, we were adequately hydrated for our stay. :)
