Kathmandu - which area should i stay?

Hello! blueshalu, UK,

I suggest you to stay in Thamel, Kathmandu. As Thamel is the main tourist location with every facilities for tourists and it is also very convenient to find guest houses, hotels, restaurants, bars, pubs, markets, banks, Atm and what ever the tourist needs. It is around 7 Km. far and it wil take 15-25 minutes drive from the Internation airport.

I highly reccommend you to stay in Annapurna Guest House, Thamel as you will find people are very friendly here as it is running by family. It has got neat and clean and comfortable room with attached bathroom with hot and cold shower. Around 8-10 pounds you will get very nice room with cable TV as well. And they have also free pick up service from the airport .

I hope the above informations which i gave you will help you during your visit to Nepal...

Have a nice time in Nepal!!!

don%26#39;t be go annapurna hotel or gust house

I would suggest you to stay in rented flats. Cheaper and you would find yourself more comfortable among the Nepali mass.

waoh 15 pound a night you can get the best hotels around thamel and thats the place to be . I wonder how you are not able to get one in thamel , but try around thamel .

Depends what you are after ! Thamel is brash, touristy, lots of bars, restaurants, and tourists - sort of %26#39;Blackpool in the Kathmandu Valley%26#39;, but it%26#39;s also fun, and just about anything you want from laundry services to downloading Flash Cards is readily available.

If you want a quieter, and I suggest slightly more Nepalese experience try Bhaktapur instead of kathmandu - still a good range of services, but. in the centre, virtually no traffic. I used The Bhadgaon Guest House last year, and found it to be central, welcoming, clean, and serving good food

I stayed at Kathmandu guest house in Thamel. they have rooms ranging from $1 to $50 per night depending on what your looking for. It is a great hotel with a fantastic atmosphere and surrounded by excellent bars and restaurants and you will feel safe unlike some parts of this city. You will have a great time in Thamel.

Hi, Thamel is the most convenient place to stay. It%26#39;s the heart of kathmandu. walking distance to restaurant, bars, internet cafe, money changer, etc. If u stay outside thamel, taking cab to Thamel can make you crazy, the distance is short, but the traffic can be crazy !

For this price, I highly recommend THE COURTYARD hotel in Thamel area. It%26#39;s very beautiful, quiet, clean, cozy. The owner is a lovely couple from Seatle, USA. So, you know their taste !!
