Trekiing Company

Anyone used Royal Mountain Treking based in Kathmandu?,for i am planing a 9 to 10 day trek as far as Namche Bazar this coming Autumm. Looking forward to hear from the people that know more about treking in Nepal than i do.Thanks.

Trekiing Company

Don%26#39;t know this particular company, but I%26#39;ve used %26#39;Spirit of the Himalayas%26#39; several times to organise trips. Very professional and competent, relatively inexpensive, and Nepalese-owned.

Worth dropping them an email at nepshol@mos.com.np or checking them out at www.spiritofthehimalayas.com/

I assume you%26#39;re thinking of flying into Lukhla ? If so, you%26#39;ve more than enough time to goet to Namche !

A suggestion:

Day 1:Lukhla - Phakding or Monjo

Day 2:Phakding - Namche

Day 3:Acclimatisation day in Namche

Day 8:Namche to Phakding

Day 9:To Lukhla

None of those days is desperately long !

You can see that it leaves a gap. May I suggest that you go from Namche to Tengpoche, a magical place, and the walk to Namche will give stunning views of Ama Dablam and the Everest group, and then return to Khumjung (as an alternative to Namche on the way back) You might also consider going west from Namche or Khumjung to Thame as you%26#39;ll still have plenty of time.

Enjoy - it%26#39;s a magical area with superb people

Thanks once again Alanyeti i shall certainly have a look at your suggestion.

I used Ace the Himalaya twice for Annapurna and Everest base camp both, you will only require 12 walk to get base camp and get back but the they offer bit longer itinerary which also include a day city tour in Kathmandu plus a spare day at the end. They arranged quite good accommodation in the trekking and also in Kathmandu, seems like they always pick best one in the route. I didn鈥檛 really suffer from the altitude but it was more common for everyone to experience few symptoms such as small headache, breathing problem etc. Using local company is good value of what you paid and also money is going directly to local people and it is lot cheaper. It doesn鈥檛 bother me to say they are much better than any international companies like Peregrine, World Exp etc.

My Husband and I went with Safe Journeys in December 2007 for our Honeymoon.

The trip was fantastic and very well organised. The owner (Richard) came on the trek with you and has such a passion for the Nepalese you just can%26#39;t help but fall in love with the place and the people.

Throughout the guides were great and all hand picked by Richard. He has been using the same guides for a few years so they are reliable. His Company was used by Ben Fogle for his Adventure programme and the porters/guides you saw were the ones we had.

He also organises free treking in Scotland so you can meet the group you will be going with. Now you can%26#39;t get better than that!

100% recommended....
