We are spending 5 days in Nepal before flying to Bhutan for 8 days. We then return to Kathmandu for 2 days. Please can someone outline what visa we will need. I expect we will have to pay for a 30 day visa when we first arrive as we will be in the country for more than 3 days however on our return can we get the %26#39;free%26#39; visa as we will be staying less than 3 days.

Yes, if you stay only 3 nights after Bhutan trip, visa fee is gratis( free).

When you return from Bhutan,after you fill out the visa form, make sure you get in the gratis visa line or que as you Yorkshire folks would say. It will be a lot shorter than the regular line. Also remember that you need a photo. We have actually gone the gratis visa route three different times - very easy.
