Things you wish you had known!

Has anyone got any advise, things you wish you had known, things to see, things to take....

Also has anyone any experience of Manakamana Treks %26amp; Expedition?

Hoping to book the base camp trek in July and would welcome posts from anyone who has had any expereince.

Many thanks!

i have one thing that i did not think about. I completed the trek, loved it but the altitude got to me. I got tired and could not sleep , lost my appitite, and had some wicked headaches and was glad to head home for some comforts. HOWEVER. due to the location and the transient nature of the tea houses etc you often sleep in very dirty beds. When i got home i emptied my bag and got on with my life. Very quickly it became apparent that i had bought back bed bugs. Just had my house treated and they need to do 2 more visits costing quite alot. If i did it again i think i would buy most of the gear there and leave it there. The things that you really need to buy in a western country, bag it up in kathmandu and dont bring it into your house, take it straight to a laundrette and get it cleaned, thus eliminating any problems, thats the best advise i can give. Have fun out there you will love it
