I%26#39;ve read that violence is increasing ahead of the 10 April elections.
How bad is this expected to get?
What would be the estimated probability of my flight into Kathmandu on 11 April getting cancelled?
I am not worried about my safety, but rather the ability to enter and move about the country for the week I%26#39;m scheduled to be there (11-19 April).
Election Unrest?
Nah. I dont know about your Government%26#39;s policy but everything%26#39;s going smooth right now. I heard airline tickets are difficult to get due to the surge in the number of tourists coming to Nepal.
And, even during the past insurgency, violence towards the tourists was never seen.... except for a very few cases of Maoists asking donations from the Maoists.
Election Unrest?
Thanks for the quick response. I%26#39;ll stop worrying about cancelled flights, for now at least.
Again, it%26#39;s not my own safety that I%26#39;m worried about, but rather the ability to move virtually unrestricted in the country, at least to the touristy spots like Kathmandu, Pokhara, Manakaman, Bhaktapur and Dhulikhel. (Geez, that sounds like a lot for 8 days!!)
I do have tickets for my DEL-KTM flight. Hopefully the elections will not bring too much violence to Nepal.
If you are coming to Nepal on 11 April that wouldn%26#39;t effect for your program.
