Nepal - Darjeeling

Does anybody know if there is a way of going from Nepal to Darjeeling?? If not.... which airlines fly from Kathmandu to Delhi/Varanasi? Can%26#39;t seem to find out anywhere online!

The guide on my last trip to Nepal was from Darjeeling and sometimes travelled from KTM to Darjeeling by bus, and sometimes flew.

Hello....you can definitely fly from your present location in nepal to Bharatpur, which is in Nepal, but situated right on the border between India and Nepal. From Bharatpur, you can take a cab upto Darjeeling ( roughly 4 to 5 hours).

You can search Buddha airlines or maybe Cosmic air ( iam not sure).

The other option ofcourse will be to fly to Calcutta and then take another train/flight to New jalpaiguri rly stn / bagdofra airport, and then again go by car upto Darjeeling ( 3 hours).

Hello...I just checked up and found that Buddha air has regular flights to Bharatpur.

Thanks debadatt2003, I%26#39;ll look into that... do you know roughly how much a cab from Bharatpur to Darjeeling might be?? And also, I%26#39;ve just had a look on the buddha air site, and whenever i search their schedules, the price comes up as 0 for both rupees and dollars. Surely this can%26#39;t be right?!

Sorry for the late reply..actually I was travelling extensively....infact presently Iam in Switzerland !!!

Iam not very sure why the Buddha air website shows 0 dollars - but my idea is that the price should be approx USd 100 to 125 one way from Kathmandu to Bharatpur.

Regarding the taxi fare from Bharatpur to darjeeling, I donot have a clue, but I can check on the same from another Tripadvisor copassenger and get back to you.

I just checked up with another friend at Tripadvisor, who travelled from Kathmandu to Darjeeling a few months ago.

KTM - Bharatpur - USD 120 each.

Bharatpur to India/Nepal border by car - USD 11. Time = 1 hour.

India/Nepal border to darjeeling by exclusive car - USD 33. Time = 31/2 hr. Cheaper shared jeeps are also available...but they are crowded and take longer time to ply.
