Have only 5-6 days holiday. Will fly into Kathmandu and stay there..besides seeing things in the city we would like to get a hike around outside of town for some day trips. Is this possible? Can anyone make some suggestions?

it is possible to go for outing or manage trip. For 5-6 days annapurna region is best for you, so why don%26#39;t you check it out for the Ghorepani/poonhill trek, easy trek as well as you can see the beautiful view of Annapurna Mountains range.
Itinerary for 6 days Ghorepani/poonhill trek
1.Drive to pokhara 200km and take 7 hour.
2.Early in the morning drive to nayapul and heading Tikedhunga.
3. Ghorepani, early in the morning visit poonhill, view sunrise and mountain range
4.Tadapani
5.Ghandruk village and continue walk to nayapul, drive to pokhara.
6.Drive or flight to kathmandu. 35 minute by flight and 7 hours drive.

Near Thamel there is a beautifully restored garden and palace (of an austrian rana?) my husband and I stubbled upon it on our last day in Kathmandu, it was so serene after a long trip and the chaos of the city! Have fun, its an incredible place.
