Trekking EBC in May?

Hi there - can anyone tell me what the climate is generally like for trekking EBC in May? Unfortunately it is unlikely I will have time to do the trek from Jiri and will have to fly to Lukla - I%26#39;m backpacking for 6 months so on a budget and wont be able to afford a trekking compnay but would like a porter/guide - anyone recommend anyone they used that I can meet in Lukla? Thanks

Normally, may is not rainy season either because rain start from middle of june or so..but still you get rain often while you are walking on the trail at everest region. As you have mentioned here about doing the trek from jiri or from lukla ir more concern about time frame because if you have enough time then start from Jiri or if not begin from lukla.

So, avaliability of getting porters or guides can be easy for you but still can say here that please do find the liscence holder and trained guide for trek to EBC because can be little challenge over 5000mt.

Trekking EBC in May?

I flew to Lukla, then went in from there, I went in October. I expect weather to be similar in May,. suprisingly hot!! Intense sun at the altitude. I went up too fast, should be a 10 day trip up from Lukla. You will be surrounded by potential guides/porters at ;ukla. you can interview some and decide. Tengboche is great, but don%26#39;t by pass the womens monestry down below, quite the contrast in the two!!!

I have heard stories that the climbing teams (this is peak Everest summit time) do not like a lot of trekkers coming into their camps. Can%26#39;t verify that is true, but have heard such.
