Jomosom to Pokhara

Hi. Two of us are going to fly to Jomosom and trek back to pokhara. Any need to hire a guide for this? We are inexperienced trekkers.

Also do guest houses in Pokhara offer storage for your stuff as we wont need to bring it all with us on the trek?

Lastly, How long does it take from when you arrive to get guide/porter sorted etc and get going on the trek as we will only be in Nepal for 12 days. Should we try and book some stuff in advance? Thanks.

Jomosom to Pokhara

Hi Mate,

If both of you were an inexperienced trekkers then certainly it will be necessary for you two to hire a experience trekking guide. About your stuff definitely you can get it from pokhara. To get guide/porter it doesn%26#39;t take much more time, you can get plenty of perfect and experienced gudie in Kathmandu.

cheers

Hello

ok i know your plan so better to hire a trekking guide %26amp; porter with government othoriety of nepal .he is one of the best guide of the annapurna region contact to him

hemtrecknepal@hotmail.com or hemguide@yahoo.com

Hello

Better you contact with this guide

hemtrecknepal@hotmail.com

you can do this on your own, easily. But, what a guide can provide (a good guide) is worth far more than the $10-$12 USD you%26#39;d pay per day. They should be able to find the best accomodations, monitor your pace/ability and health as you move along. Offer suggestions, point things out of interest before you ask and create special opportunities. My example with my guide was that every teahouse we stayed at, while the other trekkers sat out in the dining area awaiting to be served, we went to the kitchen to help prepare the meals. the interaction with the family was a great cultural experience that all the others missed out on. When you arrive in KTM, or in jomsom, you%26#39;ll be surrounded by potential guides. Should you choose this route, interview a few over tea first, get comfortable with their experience, ability to speak english and you sense of comfort with them.

Or, I can recommned my guide, with whom I spent 22 days in Annapurna region, including this very route;

binod; dbsubedi@mail.com.np

P.S. I%26#39;ll be arriving in Shannon Sept. 8th, looking forward to your wonderful country again!!
