You can do Everest base camp (EBC) trek for two weeks in mid May. Fly in at Lukla and trek to Namche-EBC-Lukla. But, this is a very high altitude trek. You should be caring about acclimatizing during the trekkng days. There is possible teahouse (sleeping %26amp; eating at teahouse) trek.

If you do not like EBC trek, you can do trek in Annapurna or Langtang where is aslo possible teahouse trek.

hi there,

we are going in may too. was there 20yrs ago, and LOVED%26lt; LOVED our trek in the Anapurna range! its like being on a stairmaster for days tho:-) thru small villages, the people are wonderful. very sceenic and a life time must! we are going to do a week bike trip on the rim in the katmandu valley.

There is a lot to fill your time in and around Kathmandu. Last May I trekked to Helambu, just to Melemchi and back as I was not strong enough to do the full 5 day circuit around the area. It is a relatively easy trek, and great local people. There are lodges in Melemchi. I stayed at the Tashi Dellek Guest House, very basic but clean and homey, with good food. You should take a local guide (someone from Helambu).

My husband %26amp; I did the AC three years ago and loved it - I would recommend our guide - Kamal Regmi - he speaks English well and has 5 years university to be a teacher. His email is regmi_kamal@yahoo.com

Another guide that is good that I have recommended is Bishwa Ghale - his email is bishwarg77@hotmail.com

Good Luck
