bombing in Kathmandu

We are travelling to Kathmandu on Sept 8 and heard of the bombing and a possible general strike.

Can anyone give us some feedback on whether the unrest is going to impact travelling through Kathmandu?

Thank you for any help.

Hi dont plan any trips to Ktm right now . the situation is quite chaotic with fuel shortages already and now the bombings. You could be in really bad situation there. The place is going from bad to worse. and a civil uprising is on the cards. there are numerous contagious diseases on the rise as well like the virus that attacks your eyes.. The eyes stays itchy and red for months. Be careful

well i was in Kathmandu when the bombings happend, there wasone bombing 200m from my hotel. they were not major, after an hour or so everything was back to normal, but increased army and police presence everywhere for the next few days. i wouldnt say there is anything for you to worry about. i felt safe enough

I was in KTM at the end of September for 12 days and all seemed fine. Shortage of petrol yes with taxi drivers hiking prices up and a general bad mood. There was one maoist demonstration that I was aware of but I walked away. Did not hear anything about the bombings...?

I just returned from Kathmandu a few days ago and everything was fine. Kathmandu was lively and bustling and I felt safe there as I did in other cities throughout Nepal.
