Hello,

Shivapuri National Park is divided into: a) protected area of 97.37 km2 and b) additional 118.64 km2 area managed as buffer zone. It also provides over 40% of the drinking water to the Kathmandu Valley. It has high diversity of forest types which occupy 39% of the land where 16 endemic plants occur. A total of 129 species of mushroom, 150 species of butterflies with many endemic and rare 9 species of birds which are considered endangered or vulnerable, and 19 species of mammals occur. This area is increasingly used for recreation, hiking and trekking as some 1,500 Kathmandu residents and some 3,000 non-residents visit every year.

For the good and experience trekking guide or trip please contact Skyline Treks %26amp; Expedition Pvt. Ltd. I have done my camping trek in last month through this company. children as well as adult can enjoy trekking in Shivapuri national park without feeling any difficulties.

cheers

Also where is the best place to be for the festival , for joining in the festivities

what is the best way to get around kathmandu taxi or tempo as there will be 4 of us

We do hope you may know

Thanks for your last reply

hey,

chitwan is beautiful but do not expect to see any wild animals except the cat that they have at the loge:)although animals moved away from tourist area it is still a great experience just to be there. do you know where are you staying? there is two main places in chitwan, one is something Tiger and the other one I do not remember the name but that%26#39;s where i stayed.

i don%26#39;t know if you are planning to take a flight from Kathmandu but if you take a bus (about 6h) its beautiful, it goes by the river and you get to see a lot of rural life that goes around. (make sure to get the seat on the right side of the bus!)

around kathmandu taxis are the best option, they are cheap and there is many of them, remember to get a fix rate before you get in the cab!all drivers knows some basic English

hope it will help you

There is a great home-from-home style cottage near to the Shivapuri national Park called the Shivapuri Heights Cottage. It is a three-bedroom house perched on the hillside above Budhanilkantha, with great views over the valley. It%26#39;s a million miles from Kathmandu, but luckily only 25 minutes by taxi and a short uphill walk. As a secret getaway for romantic couples, or a relaxing weekend break from Kathmandu, it%26#39;s hard to beat.
