best time of year base camp Everest?

Dear TA users,

I%26#39;m surprised no one has already asked this question on TA... I did a big search but as yet haven%26#39;t been able to find the answer.

So, what is the best time of year to hike to Mt Everest Base Camp???

if you do have good knowledge on this topic, could you please provide some context to what makes a certain time of the year good or bad for doing this trek??

my husband and I are looking at doing the trek in Jan-March 2008 but we have heard (through a travel agent) that Sep-Dec is the best time of year... so perhaps Jan/Feb is the best option for us.

I am regular viewer of this forum and i used to post a lot of information that i have gain from my trekking, submitting different part of the country specially in Nepal.

September- December is the best time to submmit Everest Base Camp trek because of the ideal climate and temperature. only the temperature and climate make a certain time good or bad for doing trek but january to mid of march also appropriate time, people successfully doing EBC trek during this season too. only the problem is that during the month of january and february temperature is little bit colder than in september/december.
